Adani Green Energy’s solar power project, at the heart of the controversy over US indictment against billionaire Gautam Adani for alleged bribery, has not supplied a single unit of power to Andhra Pradesh two months after the original schedule to supply 3,000 MW. The state is expected to receive one third of the promised power, or 1,000 MW, from the plant in April 2025 – seven months after the original deadline. This even as Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has started selling power from the same project on power exchanges at a higher rate than the state-contracted tariff.
