The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is in talks with the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) for the funding of Rs 76,220 crore worth, Vadhvan port project, JNPA chairman Unmesh Wagh said in a press conference on June 20. He added that the authority is actively receiving funding requests from both domestic and international lending institutions. " We are in a position to choose," Wagh said, adding that both Power Finance Corp (PFC) and Rural Electrification Corp (REC), along with JICA, have shown interest in the funding of the project. JNPA is yet to finalize the financial institution, Wagh said.
