The mutual fund SIP stoppage ratio eased for the fourth consecutive month in August to 81.05% against a stoppage ratio of over 81.87% in July. The stoppage ratio in August 2025 was recorded at 74.51%. The latest data shows that new mutual fund SIP registrations outnumbered SIPs that were either stopped or completed their existing tenure. The number of SIPs discontinued/ tenure completed in August were recorded at 53.82 lakh whereas the number of new SIPs registered in the same period stood at 66.40 lakh. On the other hand, the number of SIPs discontinued/tenure completed in July was recorded at 50.30 lakh and the number of new SIPs registered was 61.44 lakh.
