Russia has increased fertiliser supplies to India, with shipments reaching 2.8 million tonnes in the first six months of this year amid assurances from President Vladimir Putin to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on continued supplies, Russian Fertilizer Producers Association president Andrey Guryev said. "At the BRICS Summit in Kazan (in 2024), President Putin instructed the industry to ensure that demand from Indian farmers for Russian fertilisers is met," Guryev, who is also head of the Russian chapter of the BRICS Business Council, told ET on the sidelines of the BRICS Business Forum here on Friday. "As a result, Russian producers supplied 6.5 million tonnes of fertilisers to our Indian partners last year.
