BRICS should link payment systems, boost local currency trade: Goyal

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday called upon the BRICS countries to link their payment systems, expand trade in national currencies and open markets to each other, as the grouping seeks to build more resilient supply chains amid growing trade and geopolitical uncertainties. Addressing the opening session of the BRICS Business Forum, a day ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Goyal said members should work towards making digital trade global while jointly developing capabilities in emerging technologies.
