04-Nov-2026

Rising global crude oil prices could increase India's inflationary pressures by up to 1 percentage point through higher diesel and logistics costs, while also affecting household savings, lending and economic growth, according to Gaurav Moda, Partner and Energy Industry Leader at EY India. Speaking exclusively to ANI, Moda said the increase in crude oil prices from an average of USD 60-65 per barrel to USD 90-95 has significantly raised India's energy import costs, even as the country continues to prioritise securing supplies amid geopolitical uncertainties.
