CBDT tightens merger rules for charity trusts, imposes five-year curbs on changing objectives

Charitable trusts and non-profit organisations planning to merge will now have to follow stricter rules, including a five-year restriction on altering their objectives and an obligation to take over the absorbed organisation's outstanding tax.
