India’s economy could grow 7.35% in Q2 FY27: What Finance Ministry model estimates
30-Oct-2026

India’s economy may have grown by 7.35% in the July-September quarter of FY27, according to a nowcasting model used by the Finance Ministry’s Economic Division. The estimate points to sustained economic activity, supported by consumer demand, industrial production, tax collections and investment. The estimate, shared in the Ministry of Finance’s “Monthly Economic Review” for October 2026, follows real gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 7.8% in the April-June quarter. However, the 7.35% figure is a model-based estimate, not the official GDP growth rate for the quarter.
