The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has expanded its data-driven SAKSHAM NUDGE campaign to tax professionals, reaching around 12,000 practitioners with targeted messages urging them to expedite the filing of pending tax audit reports for assessment year 2026-27, officials said. The department has sent SMSs and emails in batches to tax professionals who have filed fewer than 50% of the tax audit reports they filed in the previous financial year, officials said. The outreach aims to accelerate compliance ahead of the extended deadline.
