India will launch negotiations for a preferential trade agreement (PTA) with Mexico next week, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday, as the government steps up efforts to expand trade ties with key partners. Speaking at an event organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Goyal said negotiations with several trading partners were progressing as India sought to expand preferential access for its exporters and diversify markets amid uncertainties in global trade.
