Sun Pharma announced on September 28 the signing of an exclusive agreement with US-based LIB Therapeutics covering manufacture, commercialisation and global licensing of Lerodalcibep, an advanced medication designed to control bad cholesterol, across all markets except the United States and China. Lerodalcibep is a once-monthly PCSK9 inhibitor used to lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adult patients with hypercholesterolaemia and mixed dyslipidaemia. PCSK9 inhibitors work by blocking the PCSK9 protein, thereby helping reduce levels of LDL, commonly referred to as bad cholesterol.
