The United Arab Emirates left the OPEC alliance in May this year, ending a nearly 60 year partnership amid the West Asia conflict. The move had implications beyond crude — aligning instead with the country’s gradual transition to a post-oil economy. Another notable milestone came later that month as the UAE reported that non-oil foreign trade had surpassed $1 trillion for the first time. India has emerged as a foundational pillar of the country’s changing business landscape, with a $200 billion trade target for 2032. According to government data, bilateral merchandise trade between the two countries had crossed $100 billion for the first time in FY26.
