Elon Musk wants to put data centres in space as AI runs out of room on Earth. But is it really possible?

As Artificial intelligence transforms the way we live, growing appetite for data centres is pushing the companies to look beyond the resources on Earth. Space-based data centres promise virtually unlimited solar energy and room to grow without competing for land. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is targeting a launch as early as late 2027, but industry watchers say meaningful scale could still be years away.
