Broadcom’s $80 billion AI bet: Massive debt raise to fund chips for Anthropic

Broadcom is in talks with a group of lenders to raise between $70 billion and $80 billion in debt, according to Bloomberg. The overall financing package could eventually reach $100 billion. The money would be used to build more custom AI chip capacity for artificial intelligence companies, with Anthropic expected to be one of the main beneficiaries.
