Policy rates may need recalibration: RBI Governor

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra said policy tightening may be warranted if higher food, fuel and other input prices lead to a broad-based rise in inflation and de-anchor inflation expectations. “Any evidence of these risks materialising may need policy tightening,” Malhotra said, according to the minutes of the August Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting released by the RBI on Wednesday.
