Debt prepayment helps NHAI save Rs 34,369 cr

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has saved Rs 34,369 crore in interest payments by proactively bringing down its debt, Parliament was informed on Thursday.
The total debt of NHAI stood at Rs 2,02,276 crore at the end of FY26. Of the total, bonds accounted for Rs 1,96,217 crore and term loans Rs 6,059 crore, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari informed the Lok Sabha in response to a question.
