23-Jul-2026
The liabilities of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) have risen to Rs 40,000 crore in 2025-26 from Rs 30,960 crore in 2021-22, communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said in a written reply to Parliament on Wednesday.
The government, he said, has taken various financial and administrative measures for the company due to which it has remained Ebitda positive since 2020-21.
As per data shared by Scindia, "Against total liabilities of approximately Rs 40,000 crore, MTNL holds approximately Rs 50,000 crore of non-core assets in market value terms."
