The artificial intelligence boom has created a new group of ultra-rich tech founders. AI startup Anthropic announced on Thursday that it had raised $65 billion in fresh funding. With this, the company’s valuation has skyrocketed to a staggering $965 billion. Anthropic has now overtaken its biggest rival, OpenAI, which is currently valued at $852 billion, making it the world’s most valuable AI startup. The funding round has also dramatically increased the wealth of Anthropic’s seven cofounders. According to Forbes estimates, each founder is now worth about $16.6 billion, more than double what they were worth before the latest investment.
