Among major states employing more than 2 million workers, unincorporated non-agricultural employment in Haryana grew at the fastest pace in 2025, while Gujarat saw the sharpest contraction, according to an analysis based on the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) for 2023-24 (October 2023-September 2024) and 2025 (January-December). While such employment in Haryana grew 29.8 per cent to 3.1 million in 2025, Gujarat saw a decline of 12.6 per cent to 8 million during the same period.
