GAIL (India) is stepping up long-term LNG sourcing and preparing to invest around Rs 10,000 crore annually in pipeline infrastructure, positioning itself for a sharp rise in India’s natural gas demand over the next five years. The company is actively expanding its gas procurement portfolio even as official projections point to a strong demand upcycle driven by industrial expansion, city gas distribution expansion and improving price competitiveness of natural gas.
