Mutual fund AUM-to-bank deposit ratio jumps 3x in 10 years. What's driving the shift?

The mutual fund AUM to bank deposits has surged by nearly three times in the last 10 years, according to Annual Outlook by Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund The ratio has grown about 3 times from 12.6% in 2015 to over 33.5% in 2025. Bank deposits grew nearly 3 times in the past decade as compared to over 7 times growth in mutual funds AUM
