India’s growing economy, which has become the fourth-largest globally, is resulting in massive wealth creation, especially first-generation millionaires and billionaires. In an interaction with Moneycontrol, wealth management platform Dezerv’s co-founder Sandeep Jethwani said India’s wealth management industry is struggling to keep pace with the rapid rise in first-generation crorepatis, creating space for tech-led platforms to scale high-quality advice consistently. He argued that technology-driven portfolio execution, transparent and outcome-linked fee structures, and disciplined asset allocation are key differentiators in an increasingly crowded market. Jethwani stressed that human advice remains central, with technology and AI playing a backend role in improving RM (relationship manager) productivity, risk management and client communication, while enabling wealth platforms to serve investors beyond Tier-1 cities effectively.
