Nudge campaign: 1.5 m+ revised ITRs filed this year

The Central Board of Direct Taxes Tuesday said more than 1.5 million taxpayers have revised their income tax returns (ITRs) for the current assessment year (2025-26) as part of a voluntary compliance initiative. It said over 2.1 million taxpayers updated ITRs for AYs 2021-22 to 2024-25, resulting in additional tax collections exceeding Rs 2,500 crore during the current fiscal year.
