Chief economic advisor V Anantha Nageswaran on Friday expressed confidence that India's economic growth for FY26 will exceed 6.8%, supported by stronger consumption driven by GST rate cuts and income tax relief. Speaking at CNBC-TV18's Global Leadership Summit 2025, Nageswaran - said, "I am comfortable looking at a number north of 6.8 per cent now. My origin range was 6.3 to 6.8 per cent (projected in Economic Survey). Back in August, w were all concerned about whether we would even go towards the lower end of the 6-7 range."
