You’ve probably seen ads for loans against gold, where a couple pledges their gold to get cash from the bank. But I bet you haven’t come across a catchy jingle for loans against silver. Well, that’s about to change. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has come out with a circular titled “Reserve Bank of India (Lending Against Gold and Silver Collateral) Directions, 2025”, which includes detailed guidelines set to kick in on April 1, 2026, making it easier to get loans against silver.
