The Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday stated that it will follow a consultative approach framework for issuing any new guidelines whereby it would give stakeholders 21 days to comment on draft regulations and conduct an impact analysis of the regulation before finalizing them. However, the regulator has also stated that they can anytime dispense with this framework in matters where confidentiality needs to be maintained. Before issuing any regulation, the banking regulator will publish the draft regulation along with a statement of particulars on its website and seek public comments as measure of enhanced transparency.
