Foxconn looks to expand in India amid US tariffs, invests Rs 276 crore to boost iPhone production

Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn has expanded its investment in India amid shifting global trade dynamics, acquiring machinery worth Rs 276 crore ($32.25 million) to enhance its production capacity. The move aims to boost iPhone manufacturing in India, according to sources. This development comes just a day before US President Donald Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on multiple countries, including India, set to take effect from April 2. Doubling iPhone production in India Foxconn is reportedly working towards doubling iPhone production in India as part of Appleā€™s efforts to shift more manufacturing outside China. However, neither Foxconn nor Apple has commented on the latest investment.
