The Indian economy ended the fiscal year on a high note as digital transactions galloped to their highest-level nearing Rs 25 lakh crore in March and GST collections rose to an eleven-month high of Rs 1.96 lakh crore, according to high frequency data released on April 1. The pace of GST collections also picked up to 9.9 percent in March compared with 9.1 percent in the previous month, with quarterly collections hitting a new high of Rs 5.75 lakh crore. The growth in quarterly collections at 10.4 percent was the fastest in a year and considerably higher than 8.3 percent growth recorded in the third quarter of FY25.
