Net inflows of Rs 1.25 lakh crore from retail investors into equities touched a three-fiscal high in FY25 while infusions from domestic institutional investors crossed Rs 6 lakh crore, the highest in a decade, data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) withdrew Rs 1.27 lakh crore from Indian stocks, the most since FY22, when this category had seen outflows of Rs 1.4 lakh crore. For the fiscal that ended on March 31, the major indices of the NSE delivered returns in the range of 4%-5.5%, with the Nifty Midcap 150 outperforming with a 7.6% return.
