Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) seeks to invest up to Rs 48,000 crore in setting up six green ammonia manufacturing units at the Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla, Gujarat, sources aware of the proposed decade-long capital expenditure plans told ET. These units will be of 300 KTPA (thousand tonnes per annum) each, to be set up in six phases. Each plant would see an investment of up to Rs 8,000 crore. Green ammonia is a key ingredient in decarbonisation of industrial units and is seeing demand world over as companies across sectors race ahead to meet their net zero emission targets.
